The sanatorium «Elovoe» is a climatic balneomud health resort. It is situated 90 km South-West of Chelyabinsk and 5 km of the South Ural railway station «Chebarkul». The health resort is located on the East side of the Ural Mountains on the shore of a picturesque lake Elovoe (or Yiylykul, which in Bashkir means «a lake with ice-holes». The Russians simplified and recast an unintelligible name, thus Yiylykul turned into Elovoe).
The climate of the sanatorium area is created by softwood and hardwood trees, numerous freshwater lakes, such as Terenkul, Tabankul, Kisegach, Chebarkul. It has a particular effect on people’s health.
All the year round adults and children with their parents visit the sanatorium in order to get treatment and recreation. The medicinal features of the sanatorium are: unique climate, sapropelic freshwater muds, kumiss (fermented mare’s milk) in summer time.
The sanatorium has available:

Concerts and different guided tours are organized for guests. Not far from the health resort there is the Ilmensky State Reserve of the Ural department of RAS (Russian Academy of Sciences).

Medical provision
Medical diagnostic equipment makes it possible to provide a complex sanatorium-and-spa treatment of many diseases:

- an abdominal ultrasound investigation, and also a small pelvis, kidney, heart and thyroid gland ultrasound investigation;
- analyses of biochemical blood characteristics and immune index («Multiscan» apparatus);
- analyses of the system of a external respiration («Pneumoscreen» system).
Types of treatment
Climatic treatment is one of the main types of treatment at the resort. It includes air and sun baths, bathing, maximum outside activities all seasons of the year. You will take a keen pleasure in walking in a pinery, skiing, skating and sledding in winter, and boating on a lake in summer. You can also receive special climatic treatment under medical observation on equipped beaches.
Mud treatment — the mud from the lake Bolshoi Bolyash is silt mostly organic sediments of fresh-water ponds with a little admixture of mineral substances:
- total and local mud applications;
- diluted mud baths;
- galvanic mud.
Radon treatment, including air radon baths and radon irrigation.
Hydrotherapy: balsamic, «dry», Nauheim, coniferous, pearl baths, therapeutic shower.
Physiotherapy:

Guests live in seven 2-3-storeyed buildings of different comfort levels.
